Major Services Provided by a Solution:
FTTx solutions provide multiple access services in different scenarios, mainly including highbandwidth
IPTV service, open access network (OAN) access of wholesale service mode, highrate
Internet access service, and the private line access service of the enterprise and cell cite.
50M@HDTV Service
HDTV is the short form for high definition television. The definition of HDTV programs can
reach 1920 x 1080. Three algorithms, MPEG2-TS, WMV-HD, and H.264, are generally adopted
for compressing and transmitting data. The compressing ratio and picture quality vary greatly
with the encoding technology. The high-definition and high-bandwidth HDTV service the most
key service that mainstream carriers will publicize in network buildup and market promotion in
the future. Optical access networks, mainly GPON networks, lay a foundation for providing
users with high-bandwidth access services. In an FTTH scenario, a 1:64 split ratio is usually
adopted, and the average downstream bandwidth of each user can reach 40 Mbit/s. This makes
it possible to increase the 2 Mbit/s bandwidth of a common user to 30 Mbit/s–50 Mbit/s. The
20 Gbit/s bandwidth of a single OLT slot ensures smooth service forwarding of a VDSL2 service
board or an 8-GPON-port service board. The MA5600T/MA5603T controls the video bandwidth
of users by interoperating with carriers’ policy server through ANCP, and implements real-time
sharing of video bandwidths between users according to service requirements, so as to improve
user service experience.
Open Access
its a new optical access method and allows third-party service or content
providers to be connected to the network to provide corresponding services to users, which is
totally different from the legacy operation mode that a carrier provides all E2E services.
In an open access solution, the optical access network is an open “access tunnel”, so different
service providers can lease the open access resources, and the access network allocates
bandwidth to carriers according to their requirements.
An FTTx solution provides multiple GE
upstream interface boards to meet the requirement of connecting to multiple ISPs. The HQoS
function is used to control service bandwidth, user bandwidth, and the bandwidth of each service
of users of ISPs. The FTTx solution, with the HQoS control mechanism fully implemented,
ensures that each ISP can fairly use the bandwidth tunnel provided by the open access network
(OAN).
Enterprise Access Service
Enterprise access is a must-have application scenario in FTTx network buildup. When FTTB
buildup is promoted more quickly, fiber connecting mode for access and intercommunication
within an enterprise becomes a mainstream trend, and complements to the legacy Ethernet
connecting mode. Huawei launched the MA5612 for the enterprise access scenario. The
MA5612, which works with the OLT, provides FE, GE, E1, and POTS interfaces to enterprise
users and helps implement enterprise data access and voice access services, and
intercommunications between different departments of an enterprise through a GPON network.
FTTx solutions provide perfect enterprise security and highly reliable QoS control to ensure data
security and service quality for enterprise users.
Cell Site Access Service
The FTTx buildup scale makes optical fiber coverage become larger and optical access gradually
becomes a mainstream access mode. When mobile telecom services develop rapidly, mobile base transceiver stations (BTSs) develop to a trend of small capacity and high-density coverage.
Optical access is the best mode of bearing BTSs because it effectively saves the investments in
BTS backhaul. The cell site access solution well resolves the problem of service backhaul for
Little Smart, 2G, 3G, and feamtocell BTSs, and provides high-precision clock and time solution,
and high-reliable network protection solution. This totally meets the requirement for bearing
mobile BTSs in various scenarios.
OptiCable Solutions
With the rapid development of the telecommunication and broadcasting television technologies,
the traditional cable television (CATV) network is evolving into the next-generation
broadcasting television network. users expect more from the CATV network
including its quality and support for services. Hence, the CATV network needs to be digitalized
and bidirectionally restructured to meet the growing service demands and three-network
convergence (telecom, broadcasting TV, and Internet) demands.
Against this backdrop, Huawei launches the PON+EoC (Ethernet over coaxial cable) solution that complies with the features
of the broadcasting TV network, meets the service requirements, provides powerful service
bearer capability, and requires small one-time investment. In addition, users can select the FTTC
or FTTB mode flexibly, and the mode can smoothly evolve to FTTH to meet requirements when
users replace copper lines with optical fibers.
Electrical Power Solutions
For three independent access networks (distribution communication system, meter collection
system, and multi–network convergence) of the smart grid, Huawei launches the first PON
device in the industry. The PON device applies to scenarios such as distribution communication
system, meter collection system, electrical power intelligent community, and video monitoring.
